LIMESTONE ARES EMERGENCY NET PROTOCOL

This is the Limestone ARES net. This is a directed net. Please route all communications through the net control station. The purpose of this net is _______________________.

(HANDLE ANY EMERGENCY TRAFFIC IMMEDIATELY)

Please do not use the autopatch. The autopatch will be disabled during the net and will only be activated by the net control station.
We are now ready to accept check-ins to the Limestone ARES net. We will accept check-ins with any call. Please give your callsign, name, and location.
Inform net control if you must checkout before the net is secured or if you must be out of immediate radio contact at any time.

NET CONTROL PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING:

Conduct the net. Maintain order on the net at all times. Handle all traffic. Read all bulletins. Ask for reports and track storms if appropriate. Keep the net and the EMA staff informed as needed. Set up a liaison with other nets in the surrounding areas and on HF. Exchange information as needed. Pool the net every hour or so. Do whatever the situation calls for. Report only the requested information to Skywarn, NWS, or EMA, or other groups. Such as damage report, wind speed, tornadoes, wall clouds with or with out rotation, and hail size. When reporting hail size use coin size.

CLOSING THE NET

This concludes this session of the Limestone ARES net. Regular sessions are held every Thursday evening at 7:00 PM on this repeater, but may be activated at any time during an emergency situation. The Limestone ARES Club meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Limestone EMA building on West Market Street across from the Athens Post Office. Talk-in will be on this repeater. We would like to thank Limestone County for their continuing support. Net control station N4SEV is now securing the net and returning the repeater to normal amateur use. Thanks to everyone for your help during this event.
